The rules:
1. Post these rules
2. Dig up 8 random facts about myself
3. Write a journal of these facts
4. At the end of the post inflict meme on 8 more people
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged
1. Double-Jointed --
I can pop both of my thumbs out of their base joints and back. I was first alerted to the novelty of this ability in elementary school.
2. Mirrorwriting --
I am predominately left-handed, and along with this fact I have the ability to write in reverse (left to right, letters flipped) as well, if not better than I can conventionally. I admit to capitalizing on this ability recently, where I turned in a mirror along with an essay to someone who insisted on hand-written work just to piss them off.
3. Never Bored --
At the age of nine, I began creating a world in my head as a buffer for reality. Around Junior High, I pretty much dismissed the world around me and all but lived there until my third year of high school. At the age of 23, it remains very much alive and well, and I continue to visit it in slow moments, though not at all with the frequency and intensity I used to.
4. Productive Procrastinator --
I tend to shuffle tasks in my days according to importance: the more important it is, the longer I put it off by working on less important tasks, until something more important comes along for me to put off. I get a surprising amount of things done this way, though ball-dropping certainly happens.
5. Gestural Communicator --
I've been known to have complete, coherent conversations without ever uttering a single word: my expressions, hand gestures, and body language have always taken up about 60% of my capacity to communicate.
6. Cheerful Loner --
I'm just as happy on my own as I am in the company of others, and do not feel any anxiety while transitioning between the two states. This isn't to say that I don't get lonely, or miss people from time to time, but I've always gotten along quite famously when left alone, or without news of loved ones for extended periods of time.
7. Youthful Appearance --
I have always looked about four to five years younger than I actually am in terms of dress, appearance, stature, development and whatever else. And then, I open my mouth and shatter the illusion rather spectacularly. *grins*
8. Slow fuse --
I am patient and retiring to a fault, and rarely complain in situations where I am at an obvious disadvantage unless it has become undeniably apparent that I cannot ignore, escape from, work my way out of, endure, or handle the circumstances put before me on my own. Along this vein, I have been known to disregard things that hurt my feelings, annoy me, or cross personal boundaries until the feelings they create accumulate into something that finally makes me snap in anger or frustration or self-loathing, depending on the situation. ...I'm still working on it, but it's certainly worth noting.
Annnnd, I'm not taggin' anyone, because I'm kinda slacking off just doing this as it is. *grins*
