Drawn for a friend of mine who is really into birds and pretty women. Pen and ink, background and border in photoshop.
Inspiration for her outfit was taken from two sources, 's Orbkiller's shoulder armor, and the sweater from a dude who looks like a chick from yet another game that looks like a spinoff of the Mana/Grandia/etc. RPGs, whose name I cannot remember. Something about mana, to be sure. I only looked at the cover and noted that the clothing managed to look cool and outlandish without resembling a wardrobe of crap from hot topic, Wet Seal, a Leather store, and a bunch of traditional japanese kimonos ripped to pieces and haphazardly sewn back together in a nightmarish mishmash that looks like something Frankenstein would have created had he been a fashion designer.
I agree with io-ether--grayscale is definitely underestimated by a lot of artists.
This is a beautiful piece of artwork. I love her face, and the falcon looks great!
You have my instant love. I ADORE falcons and falconers. This is just a great, simple piece portraying them both, a lot better than what I usually see, too.

The greatest reward is not JUST watching those who are already great, but watching those who are just starting out and watching them, helping them grow. That is true satisfaction.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I'm over it!
You see I'm falling in the vast abyss...
Clouded by memories of the past...
At lastÉI say...
I hear it fading, I can't speak it,
or else you will dig my grave;
You fear them finding, always whining...
take my hand now be alive!
